I'm tying a yellow ribbon around my Maple tree tonight

Everywhere in my home town is tying these ribbons. Warrant Officer Dennis Raymond Brown is the latest death in Afghanistan He was once a commander in the reservist regiment in this area. I think it is finally close to home. It's hard to take when you actually work with people who know this man and his family.
Harder still when all you hear is the deaths.
When you don't understand because you aren't being told of the point.
The media doesn't tell you what accomplishments are made. Whether there is a difference being made or not.
You end up honouring their sacrifice without understanding it.
Yellow ribbons
that end up in tatters
seems so..empty
