Okay look, he was drunk. He has a drinking problem. He probably has a level of alcohol in his system most of the time. When you drink enough to raise that level to the point where you are beyond drunk, you hallucinate. Look it up..It's true. I've grown up with alcoholics in the family. Trust me. I've seen it happen. If he said those things when he was sober I would be the first one on the list of "People who hate Mad Max"...I would be holding up the biggest protest sign! But he was fucking drunk out of his gourd people!
In the Dianne Sawyer he actually spoke some truth. The Israeli are not blameless in the unrest there. They aren't. It may be unpopular to say so but it's still true. Hezbollah is the enemy not all of Lebanon and to bomb an entire village, killing and wounding innocent people is a ineffective and heinous way of dealing with a political party.
The Movie he did...You know about the Jews cheering on while Christ was crucified? That was in the bible. He didn't make it up. I am not sure how the story could be told without sounding antisemetic. They didn't kill Christ but they let it happen and jeered at him while he carried his cross in their midst. That's the way it's written and millions of people around the world believe this to be truth. Now, understand,the Jews were an occupied people. Under the grips of an empire ruled by people who threw 'criminals' into pits of lions for their lunchtime entertainment.
They had no choice but to let it happen...Still, that is what happened. Mel produced a very realistic retelling of that story. It isn't his story to call him antisemetic based on drunken babbling and a story in the bible retold is ridiculous.
It just is. It isn't news either. There are wars going on. Leave off Mel!
