Army Recruiters Accused of Misleading Students to Get Them to Enlist

"Nobody is going over to Iraq anymore?" one student asks a recruiter.

"No, we're bringing people back," he replies.

"We're not at war. War ended a long time ago," another recruiter says.

We had a nice chance to vote out the labour party at our local elections yesterday before I get shipped off to Iraq myself.

Fingers crossed for freedom of choice.

It's not the generals, but it's a start.

I read about this on Rosie's blog too but I had also known about it on a personal level... The recruiters came knocking on our own door quite frequently, for my oldest son. It finally took me threatening this one persistent jerk's life to get him off my doorstep. At the time, my son fit the profile of a recruiters dream.
He, (my son) almost signed. Every Mom's worst nightmare!

There is a piece of paper that you can sign in/our children's school's in NY that stops the recruiters from getting the names and addresses from the schools. I urge every mother to check it out and if it is not available in your school...do all you can to make it available. The young are to impressionable, as we know. It's up to the parents to awaken and protect their own.

Thanks Rue for posting this.
